Broadway Church Media/Admin Assistant

Broadway Church in Chilliwack is committed to leading people to love and follow Jesus. We are looking to add a part time (25-30 hours a week) Media/Administrative Assistant to help communicate, organize and bring efficiency to our growing ministries.  

We desire to hire a Media/Administrative Assistant who will provide visionary oversight and implement efficient systems to support the administrative work at Broadway Church. She/He will work alongside the Executive Administrator and specialize in creating and maintaining media content. This person will also communicate across ministry teams to oversee a coordinated system that alleviates individual administrative tasks and provides actionable data.  The ideal candidate would combine their administrative skills with their love for Christ to bring unity across ministry systems and clearly communicate the work God is doing in our church through our website and social media platforms.

This position would be paid hourly and offers benefits.

Media/Administrative Assistant Qualifications

  • Able to support the vision of Broadway Church and the MB Confession of Faith

  • Has a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing relationship with Him. 

  • Holds a Broadway Church membership or is willing to obtain membership and attends services regularly.

  • Business Administration degree preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to reflect that in written and visual content.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience with developing content and messaging to a wide audience using both print and digital media

  • Experience implementing computer systems and providing support to new users

  • Takes initiative to troubleshoot problems and find solutions

  • Ability to work well in a team, is teachable, accountable and open to feedback

  • Intentional about creating a warm, welcoming environment that is inviting to visitors

  • Displays a high degree of trust and confidentiality

  • Ability to liaise between staff and I.T.

  • Competent to learn new software, apply it and teach it to others as required.

  • Ability to problem solve.

 

 Media/Administrative Assistant  Responsibilities

  • Edit and deliver Sunday service videos and other videos as needed.

  • Upload videos to YouTube, Website, Facebook & Instagram.

  • Manage church website and all relevant social media platforms with cohesive look and feel, creating and maintaining content. 

  • Coordinate a schedule of volunteers to do videography, and when necessary, step up to fill in gaps of scheduling.

  • Provide and update content for the church website as needed

  • Oversee the procurement and launching of software as needed. 

    • Communicate the program to ministry personnel

    • Identify needed infrastructure (iPads, printers, etc.)

    • Provide support to individuals during the onboarding process

    • Obtain thorough understanding of program and help produce organized ways of using the data generated (ie: communicate data to pastors and provide options of how to act on it)

  • In coordination with Executive Administrator, maintain bookkeeping and data entry requirements on Financial systems & generate reports as requested.

  • Work alongside Pastoral Staff, assisting with their administrative needs, be it programming, coordinating website updates, scheduling or other administrative duties.

  • Provide full-time relief for Executive Administrator when he/she is on holidays

  • Assess and maintain contracts

  • Attend weekly staff meetings and report to Lead Pastor and Executive Administrator.

 

 

Broadway Church Middle School Pastor

Broadway Church in Chilliwack is growing in its Children and Youth ministries and is currently looking for a part-time (20 hour a week) Middle School Pastor to lead this Ministry (approx. 40 youth, Gr. 6-8). This would include a Midweek youth gathering as well as a Sunday morning discipleship program.

We are looking to hire a Pastor who will provide visionary oversight and pastoral leadership to the middle school youth of Broadway Church. She/he will partner with parents and youth leaders in discipling youth, consistently engage students with the good news of the gospel and support them in developing their love for Him and others. This Pastor will be present in the lives of the youth in their various contexts and will work to provide a place where students feel they can belong, believe the good news, and become lifelong disciples of Christ.

The ideal candidate must have a passion for the gospel as well as clearly teaching our youth to understand and live it out. They must desire, in prayerful reliance, to come alongside our families to help equip both our youth and youth leaders for the work of ministry. They must be excited about connecting with youth and seeing them grow into passionate disciple-making followers of Christ. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and teaching youth and have strong communication skills. This position would be paid hourly and offers flexible work hours.

Middle School Pastor Qualifications

  • Able to support the vision of Broadway Church and the MB Confession of Faith

  • Has a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing relationship with Him. 

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in theological studies and/or youth ministry OR has substantial experience in youth ministry.

  • Demonstrates the ability to lead by example, equip, and disciple youth.

  • Passionate about and understands young people.

  • Understands Canadian culture well and can contextualize the gospel accordingly.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient with computer applications and social media.

  • Is teachable and open to feedback and accountability.

Middle School Pastor Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee security measure to protect children in our programs

  • Provide overall pastoral care for the Middle School Youth, encouraging their spiritual growth and challenging them to grow in their commitment to Christ and His mission.

  • Identify, train, and support a volunteer leadership team.

  • Plan and coordinate weekly ministry events including:

    • Leading Middle School Youth Nights (Wednesdays from Grades 6-8)

    • Overseeing and supporting a team of volunteers currently leading a Sunday morning discipleship program for Grades 6-8

  • Provide individualized support, nurturing of gifts, and mentoring for students

  • Oversee curriculum coordination and/or development.

  • Facilitate incorporation of youth into various church ministries.

  • Embody and nurture the intergenerational culture of Broadway Church.

  • Connect regularly with our Children’s Pastor and Sr. High Youth Pastor to maintain cohesion between ministries.

  • Attend Sunday worship services and staff meetings.

  • When appropriate, opportunities to preach and/or lead worship may be pursued/offered.
