September is here and we are looking forward to an awesome fall season! We hope you will join us!
While the recent directive from BC Health gives latitude to churches, our Leadership Team has chosen to follow the recommendation laid out by the provincial health officer for 'public gatherings', because our in-person Sunday services are indeed, just that - public gatherings.
Therefore, we choose to follow the requirement to mask ourselves when attending our Sunday services, beginning immediately.
The choice is based on three principles.
- Jesus instructed us to love one another, to love our neighbour as ourselves. To subject anyone to an increased risk of infection contradicts our faith. We recognize that even a double-vaxed person can spread the virus.
- Our witness as Christians is also paramount. To exempt ourselves from regulations intended for all of society breeds contempt, even anger, among many Christians and non-Christians alike.
- The solid evidence exists to show that reduced COVID transmission occurs with mask use. It is a now-proven method of keeping people safer.
- We also encourage the practice of the other safety protocols; washing hands frequently and social distancing.
We want to continue leading others to love and follow Jesus.
If you can't attend the services in person, feel free to join us for our on-line services instead.
